Productive Friday for Carlos Sainz at the Italian GP

Friday, 4 September 2026:

- Free Practice 1: P16, 1:24.827, 25 laps

- Free Practice 2: P17, 1:23.900, 30 laps

• Carlos Sainz made it through the Friday sessions of the Italian GP without any issues, all the while working across the three compounds that Pirelli has made available for this weekend.
• The Williams race driver has covered 10 laps on the Hard tyre and 15 on the Medium in Free Practice 1, while in Free Practice 2 he has clocked 10 laps on Mediums and 20 laps on Softs. He has also performed several set-up tests.
• The Spanish driver is satisfied with what he is feeling behind the steering wheel and their understanding of the set-up of the FW48, which they will now try to optimise for the rest of the weekend.

"The car felt okay today, despite its limitations. We used both sessions to do a number of interesting tests to help with setup over the weekend. All three tyre compounds worked well for us, with minor difference between them. We'll continue refining our setup and reviewing the data ahead of qualifying tomorrow".
