- Race. P12, 64 laps
- Carlos Sainz finished twelfth in a Barcelona-Catalunya GP where he made the most of his Williams FW48.
- From sixteenth on the grid, the Williams driver put together a solid start on the Soft tyre and moved up four places in the first meters of the race to climb up to twelfth.
- In a tough race marked by high temperatures and high tyre degradation, the Spanish race driver followed a three-stop strategy (Soft, Hard, Hard, Medium), but his car didn’t have a good race pace and he finished outside the points.
