- Race: DNF, 23 laps
- Carlos Sainz was forced to retire after his first pit-stop when his Williams FW48 shut down unexpectedly in the main straight due to an issue in the power unit.
- The Spanish racing driver started from seventeenth and passed Franco Colapinto at the start. His race pace was better than expected up until the technical issue.
- Carlos is already looking forward to the next race in Silverstone, where Williams is scheduled to introduce updates to his car.
QUOTES:
“We had better race pace today than in practice but ultimately, we’re still quite far off the pace of our rivals. We made a few changes which made the car more drivable, and we were fighting cars we did not expect to fight, which is a positive sign. However, sadly a PU issue meant my car suddenly switched off. It's clear we are not where we want to be in terms of performance, but we’re bringing a small upgrade to Silverstone which will hopefully put us back in a more competitive position.
