Karting and winter sports in Italy to prepare for the new season
The latest video of the DONTBLINK series shows Carlos Sainz through a four-day training camp in Italy, combining karting, skiing and gym to get to the new Formula 1 season in optimal conditions.
Just hours before the start of the Bahrain GP, which kickstarts the longest season in the history of Formula 1 with 23 races in total, the Ferrari race driver has shown his fans the details of his winter training program.
This is a crucial aspect in the performance of a Formula 1 driver, crucially through the three months between seasons, but it mostly goes unnoticed by the general public because it doesn’t happen in front of the cameras.
The latest video of the DONTBLINK series gives unprecedented access to Carlos, as it accompanies him in the final preparations of his ninth Formula 1 season, the third one as a member of the Scuderia Ferrari.
The training camp starts at the karting track of Franciacorta, nearby Milano. Carlos trains there for two days at the wheel of a KZ kart, together with his friend and old rival Roberto Merhi, who is with him throughout the entire experience.
The last two days happen far away from the racetrack, as Carlos heads to the Italian Alps together with his trainer Ruper Manwaring and Roberto himself to combine winter sports with gym work.
The video is available on the drivers’ official YouTube channel.
