- Carlos Sainz started the Bahrain GP with 49 laps in the Friday practice sessions, in which he worked across different set-ups on his SF-23 to try and adjust them to the conditions of Sakhir.
- The Ferrari race driver finished the day without any lap time genuinely representative of his car's potential.
- The Spaniard is confident that the Scuderia will take another step forward on Saturday, following the different set-up changes tested across today’s sessions to optimise the car's performance.
