- Great performance from Carlos Sainz in the Sprint Qualifying of the United States GP, where he managed to clinch the seventh place. This result is more remarkable when considering that Carlos was only able to do nine laps in practice due to an issue related to the gearbox of his car.
- The Williams race driver set the sixth fastest time both in SQ1 (1:34.239 as in SQ2 (1:33.652), always on the Medium tyre. In the end, he put on the Soft one and he clocked a 1:32.911 on a single flying lap.
- The Spaniard is set to take the start from the points zone in a Sprint that will be 19 laps long. The drivers that finish in the Top 8 positions will score points for the Championship.
QUOTES:
“It’s encouraging to be P7 in Sprint Qualifying, especially with the little track action I’ve had today after missing most of FP1. Considering the circumstances, I’m happy with my laps on both compounds and I’ll do my best to grab some points in the Sprint Race. We’ll also take the learnings for tomorrow’s main qualifying and hopefully we can repeat or improve today’s result".
