- Race: P6, 57 laps
- Carlos Sainz overcame a puncture in the Qatar GP and finished in sixth place, contributing to bringing the title fight all the way to the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
- The Spaniard started from sixth place and he was about to overcut George Russell when he suffered a puncture on the front left tyre on Lap 35. He had to do a full lap around the circuit before arriving to the pits.
- Just as he was leaving the pits, the Safety-Car came out for debris on track and this played against Carlos, who fell momentarily to the eighth place of the standings.
- Sergio Pérez had an issue in a restart and Lando Norris received a penalty, meaning Carlos could move back to sixth place even though his SF-24 had endured damage in the lap he had covered with a flat tyre.
- Ferrari narrows the gap to McLaren by three points after the Qatar GP. The gap is now set at 21 points with only one Grand Prix to finish the season.
QUOTES:
"I’m obviously not happy with the outcome of today’s race. We were in a strong position but unfortunately I got a puncture and had to complete an entire lap with a flat tire. After the pit stop, the Safety Car came out, and this cost us even more time and ultimately some crucial positions".
"Dragging the car for an entire lap led to some damage and the car felt a bit off, making things difficult for the last stint"-
"That said, I’m pleased I managed to bring the car home and together with Charles podium we managed to score important points. We will fight until the last lap of the Abu Dhabi race for the championship, and hopefully finish the season in the best way possible".
