- Race: P6, 50 laps
- Carlos Sainz recovered to sixth place in an intense Las Vegas GP that included two Safety-Car periods.
- Twelfth on the Starting Grid due to a 10-place penalty, he was involved in the Turn 1 multiple crash but seized the opportunity to do his first pit-stop.
- On Hard tyres, the Spaniard showcased a great race pace and climbed up to fourth by the time everyone had completed their first tyre change.
- Halfway into the race, he was running sixth when the Safety-Car came out for a second time. Carlos pitted for another set of Hard tyres and joined the track eleventh, recovering again to sixth by the chequered flag.
