- Sprint: Did not finish
- Qualifying: P6, 1:26.569, 20 laps
- Carlos Sainz suffered a small accident and retired in the closing stages of this morning’s Sprint in Miami, but he came back with an excellent performance in Qualifying, where he made it to Q3 and finished in sixth place, matching his best result of the season so far.
- The Williams race driver made it comfortably through Q1 (1:27.098) and Q2 (1:26.847), and in Q3 he found three tenths (1:26.569) that leave him in a very good place for tomorrow’s race.
- Carlos will fight for points tomorrow against theoretically superior cars, although there are many question marks still to answer in this Grand Prix, including the weather conditions. Rain is not ruled out for the race.
QUOTES:
"I’m very happy with that Qualifying result. Since FP1 I felt good in the car and I knew I was fast this weekend, so it feels good to have a clean session and extract the maximum out of the car. The weekend is not over yet and we still need to deliver a perfect race if we want to pick up some good points, so full focus on tomorrow".
