Saturday, 25 October 2025:
- Free Practice 3: P15, 1:17.801, 24 laps
- Qualifying: P7, 1:16.172, 18 laps

  • Carlos Sainz put together a brilliant Qualifying session to minimize the consequences of the five-place grid penalty that he carries over from the United States GP.
  • The Williams race driver made it comfortably through Q1 (1:17.171) and then flied in Q2 (1:16.607), where he set the fifth fastest time.
  • The Spanish race driver found another five tenths (1:16.172) in Q3, which allowed him to be seventh, outqualifying the current leader of the World Championship, Oscar Piastri.
  • The penalty pushes him back to the twelfth place of the grid, where tomorrow he will start a comeback driver to get back to the points.

QUOTES:
“That was probably my best qualifying lap of the season. I’m enjoying the feeling in the car and today we executed a very solid Qualifying. We’ll take the positives and refocus on tomorrow. It’s a shame we have to serve that penalty as it will definitely make our race tougher with the dirty air and the cooling. However, I have confidence on my race pace and we’ll do all we can to fight back into the points. I also want to say thank you to the fans here; their support is truly something special and it’s incredible to drive around this circuit listening to all their cheers!”.
