Carlos Sainz faces the Japanese GP with an added challenge on the energy front

Japanese GP, Suzuka Circuit (5,807 meters, 18 corners, in the calendar since 1987)

  • Carlos Sainz returns this weekend to Suzuka, one of his favourite racetracks in the world for its demanding and technical corners.
  • The best result of the Williams race driver in the Japanese GP goes back to 2024, when he made it to the third step of the podium. He has scored points in five of his nine previous outings here.
  • Two challenges arise for this year’s event: understanding the new asphalt that has been laid and optimizing the energy management, which is set to be a key factor given that Suzuka has many mid-speed corners but not too many heavy breaking points.
