Hungarian GP, Hungaroring (4,381 meters, 14 corners, in the calendar since 1986)
- Carlos Sainz heads into this weekend’s Hungarian GP, the last race before a 4-week-long summer break before the competition resumes.
- The Hungaroring is a whole different technical and driving challenge from Spa-Francorchamps, with multiple low-speed corners and few options to overtake.
- The Williams race driver will try to maximise the three practice sessions to build up confidence in the recent update of the FW47, which he plans to use to clinch a good result before the summer.
QUOTES:
“Carlos Sainz: As we head to Budapest for the next round in the double-header and also final the round before the summer break, I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel and testing out our new package in a normal weekend format, with the Free Practice sessions to build up throughout. It’s always a fun circuit to drive and the weekend is looking mostly dry, so hopefully we can come back stronger for the final round. The team has been working really hard all year, so it will be nice to end on a high before everyone has some well deserved time off".
