- Free Practice 1: P13, 1:27.090, 26 laps
- Free Practice 2: P16, 1:27.159, 27 laps
- Carlos Sainz was able to complete his full Friday practice programme in Silverstone, where he worked across the three compounds that Pirelli has made available for the weekend.
- With different set-ups in his Williams, he tried the Hard and Soft compounds in Free Practice 1, whereas in Free Practice 2 he briefly used the Medium one and paid special attention to the Soft option, in which he gathered 17 laps.
- The Spanish race driver put his focus in understanding his FW47 after the technical issues of the last few weekends. Tomorrow it will be time to look for performance in order to prepare well for Qualifying.

“A tough day with windy conditions. It made it tricky to be consistent throughout the session, but we managed to complete a full programme focused on improving our reliability issues. We collected some good data which will hopefully allow us to focus more on performance in FP3. It will be interesting to see how the weather impacts us with cooler temperatures and high winds, so I’m looking forward to what Qualifying brings tomorrow".
