Silverstone (5,891 metres long, 18 corners, in the calendar since 1950)
- Carlos Sainz will experience first-hand Formula 1’s new weekend format, which features a Qualifying session on Friday afternoon as a prologue to a sprint qualifying race on Saturday, which will define the Starting Grid of the Grand Prix, set for Sunday.
- This will not be the only new thing for Carlos in Silverstone, given that Pirelli is set to introduce a new tyre construction which is more robust according to the manufacturer. Carlos tested it briefly during Free Practice for the Austrian GP.
- This is a special weekend for Ferrari, because it is the 70th anniversary of its first victory in the Formula 1 World Championship. It was achieved in Silverstone by the Argentinian José Froilán González at the wheel of a Ferrari 375.
