2024 F1 Pre-Season
- P9, 1:31.247, 71 laps
- Carlos Sainz finished the pre-season testing with 71 laps in the morning session of the third and final day of winter practice in Bahrain.
- The session was compromised by an hour-long red flag period due to issues with the drain covers of the track. To make up for the loss of time and make the most of the rest of the day, the lunch break was called off.
- The Ferrari race driver focused on the C3 tyre compound as he worked on the set-up of his SF-23 with a run plan that included long stints.
- Carlos was the fastest driver of the pre-season thanks to the 1:29.921 lap that enabled him to top the standings on the second day of practice.
QUOTES:
“One last push here in Sakhir, maximising these final laps before we move on with the proper Bahrain GP next week. Overall, it has been a good day, despite the red flag that disrupted the running a bit but I enjoyed every single lap in the car today. We tested a lot of different configurations to collect as much data as possible"
“The car seems to be in a decent place and I’m proud of the work that the team has done to complete such a solid test programme".
