Carlos Sainz, the Spanish Formula 1 driver for Scuderia Ferrari, arrives in the Spanish karting scene through his new brand CS55 Racing. He will provide the equipment used in the Karting Academy, the new initiation racing series created by the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo (the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation).
Sainz announced on February the creation of a new brand called CS55 Racing, a joint project with the renowned Italian manufacturer OTK, with whom the Spaniard was linked to during his years in karting. As a result of this technical partnership and Carlos Sainz’s determination to support the Spanish karting, CS55 Racing will be the brand used by drivers aged 6 to 8 competing in the Karting Academy within the framework of the Spanish Karting Championship (CEK Finetwork), from this year 2024.
Carlos still drivers around in a kart as part of his training for the Formula 1 season. He has acknowledged many times that karting is both a good practice and a passion he has kept since childhood. A testament to that is the new line-up of karting products that he has developed with the OTK Kart Group, the world-class leader in racing karts, with over 40 years of experience in the design, development and sale of chassis, engines and accessories. Their products always respond to the philosophy ‘100% made in OTK’.
The CS55 Racing Karting Academy is the best racing class to get started in national karting. Maintaining a low cost for the families, the goal is to give children an affordable opportunity to get started in karting.
The Spanish Karting Championship (CEK Finetwork) will start the new season in Campillos, Málaga, on the weekend of the 21st of April. On that weekend, the CS55 Racing Karting Academy drivers will use their new material for the first time.
