Carlos Sainz clinches yet another podium in challenging Singapore GP

Sunday, 2 October 2022
-    Race: P3, 59 laps

  • Carlos scored his eighth podium of the year in a Singapore GP that was eventful from start to finish: it started with an hour-long delay due to the rain, there were two Safety-Cars and three Virtual Safety-Cars, and the race finished sooner than expected as it reached the two hour limit.
  • The Ferrari driver gained one place at the start by overtaking Lewis Hamilton through the first corner and he didn't give up that position until the chequered flag.
  • The Spaniard struggled with pace in his F1-75, but recovered the feeling with the car towards the end of the race and scored a solid result by executing a flawless Grand Prix.

QUOTES:
"Quite a strange race for me to be honest. I managed to do a good start and get Lewis, but for some reason I struggled with pace in the first stint with the intermediates and only towards the end of race I managed to recover it, but it was already too late. We need to look into it because I’ve been quick all weekend and today I lost all feeling with the car".

"On a positive note, we managed to do a race without mistakes on these tricky conditions, which was not easy today, and bring home a solid result with both cars on the podium. We’ll go at it again in Japan next week".
