- Race: P3, 57 laps
- Carlos finished the Miami GP on the third step of the podium after a really tough race from the physical point of view.
- The Spaniard started the race from second place, but in the first corner he couldn’t brake later because he had his teammate in front. Max Verstappen benefited from this situation and passed him.
- In the last few laps, Carlos defended flawlessly from Sergio Pérez, who attacked him on brand new Medium tyres after pitting under a Safety-Car.
- The next round on the calendar is the Spanish GP, where Carlos will fight for his first Formula 1 victory aided by the support of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and the Grada CS55.
QUOTES:
“After a couple of eventful GPs, it’s good to be back on the podium and to have both cars up there for the team. In general it was a solid race but also a very tough one. The neck is still not 100% and half way through the race it became a limitation. Defending from Checo on new Mediums after the restart was also very tough and the slightest of mistakes would have meant losing P3. I managed to fend him off well and the podium was the reward".
“I think I needed a race like this to reset a bit and take it as a base for the upcoming races. Up next is my home GP and we’ll make sure we get there on the best of forms. Miami has been a unique weekend. Thanks to all the fans out there for their support!”.
