-    Race: P20, retirement

• Carlos retired from the Emilia Romagna GP in the first lap of the race as he was hit by a rival car in the chicane of Tamburello.
• The track position was his, but the car on the inside line, Daniel Ricciardo’s McLaren, lost control and collided with the left side of Carlos’ Ferrari.
• The Spaniard ended up in the gravel trap and was not able to get back on track, which led to a premature retirement from the first European race of the 2022 season.

“Unlucky day. I braked well into turn 1, leaving enough space to my left, but unfortunately Daniel lost a bit the car and hit me from behind, throwing me into a spin and into the gravel. It is a big shame because we were up for a good race but there is nothing else I could have done differently at that point to avoid it. It’s a though moment as today I wanted to do a good race in front of our fans. The last two races things haven’t gone our way at all, but I’m still confident we can turn it around. There are many races ahead of us and you can be sure we will keep pushing. On to Miami".
