- Race: P10, 56 laps
- Carlos Sainz finished the Chinese GP in tenth place. It was a tough weekend for the Spanish race driver, who didn’t find the optimal rhythm in the Williams FW47.
- Starting from fifteenth on the grid, the Spaniard held position in the opening laps and then managed to pull out a one-stop strategy to go until the end.
- Carlos overtook Jack Doohan on track in the opening laps of the second stint and benefited from a retirement to cross the finish line in thirteenth place.
- Post-race technical checks have revealed that three cars didn’t meet the regulations, which prompted their disqualification from the race and promoted Carlos to the tenth place.

“It’s been a strange and very tough weekend on my side. To be honest, I’m a bit puzzled because since I jumped in the car in testing in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain I was quick straight away, but I don’t know where the pace and that feeling with the car has gone".
