- Race: P3, 57 laps
- Carlos Sainz scored a podium finish in the Bahrain GP, where he crossed the line in third place after being the only driver capable of following the pace of a Red Bull.
- Fifth after losing a position at the start, the Ferrari race driver showcased a great race pace already on the Soft tyre. He kept the momentum through the two sets of Hard tyres he used afterwards.
- On Lap 11, Carlos passed his teammate before the first pit-stop to move up to fourth.
- The Spaniard overtook Charles Leclerc again on Lap 17, after finding himself behind him after his first pit-stop.
- Shortly afterwards, Carlos also passed Mercedes’ George Russell to make it to the podium of the race.
- The final touch of the day for Carlos was being voted Driver of the Day of the Bahrain GP by the Formula 1 international fanbase.

“It’s a solid start of the season and very good points for the team. I felt really good in the car all race long, being able to control the pace and doing good overtakes. I tried everything to manage the tyres on the last stint to try and attack the Red Bull at the end of the race, but they are still faster than us. However, I think we have a very good baseline to work on and we need to keep pushing to close the gap. On to Jeddah!".
