- Race: P3, 51 laps
- Carlos Sainz clinched his first podium as a Williams race driver after a spectacular drive in the Azerbaijan GP, where fans recognized his effort by voting him as their Driver of the Day.
- The Williams race driver started from second place and had very strong cars behind him, but his clinical work behind the wheel allowed him to stay in front of faster cars and to extend the life of the Medium tyre until the end of lap 27.
- The Spanish driver fell from second to third due to a strategic overcut by George Russell, but in the remaining laps he didn’t give up and pushed all the way until he secured his first podium of the year and the first one of Williams in over four years.
- Carlos has scored 15 points today, a true turning point after a number of difficulties and mishaps that have compromised his results since the start of the season.
