- Free Practice 3: P6, 1:19.301, 20 laps
- Qualifying: P5, 1:18.351, 17 laps
- Carlos couldn’t go further than fifth in the Qualifying session of the Mexico City GP in a difficult day for Scuderia Ferrari.
- The Spaniard made it comfortably through Q1 (1:19.566) and in Q2 (1:18.560) he finished just eight milliseconds short from the fastest time.
- In Q3, though, it became increasingly difficult to go over the kerbs of the first two sectors and this compromised Carlos’ lap.
QUOTES:
“It was a difficult qualifying. Riding the kerbs was very tricky for us, especially in the first two sectors, which meant it was challenging to put together the perfect lap".
"I tried everything out there today to get a better result but couldn't make it. Nonetheless, the weekend is not over and we will fight hard all the way to the chequered flag".
