• Carlos Sainz set the fifth fastest time in a Qualifying session that was very intense due to the constant evolution of the track, that changed by the minute.
• The asphalt was always at its best in the last seconds of every Qualifying round, with slight intermittent drizzles in between that made it slower.
• This meant that, ultimately, everything came down to a single flying lap where everything was at stake, including the presence in the following round.
• Carlos made the cut in Q1 (1:29.865) and Q2 (1:28.265), and in Q3 (1:27.148) he set the fifth best lap-time.
