-    Qualifying: P8, 1:11.989, 20 laps

  • Carlos Sainz will start the Sao Paulo GP from eighth place after a heavy storm hit the racetrack when he was about to finish his flying lap.
  • The Ferrari race driver made it through Q1 (1:10.624) and Q2 (1:10.254) without any setbacks, but in Q3 the weather played a decisive role.
  • The position from the Spaniard at the end of the queue in the Pit-Lane ended up being an obstacle in his one and only timed lap.
  • During his lap, Carlos’ car was affected by strong gusts of wind that preceded the storm and that ended up compromising the stability of his Ferrari SF-23.

QUOTES:
“I am very disappointed as I was feeling good in the car, but we missed a good opportunity. The storm arrived very quickly, the wind picked up a lot and it caught me out during the lap. I tried to keep it together but it was extremely tricky and the lap was not good. We were one of the last cars in the queue in the pitlane and every second counts in these situations. It is what it is and now it’s time to focus on tomorrow.”
