• Carlos will start from the second row of the grid in the first race of the season after setting the fourth fastest time in Qualifying.
• The Ferrari race driver led Q1 (1:29.909) with a single set of Soft tyres, saving two brand-new ones for Q3.
• In Q2, the Spaniard started on used tyres before switching to new ones for his final attempt, in which he set a 1:29.573 that put him third.
• In Q3, Carlos found seven hundredths of a second in his final lap to improve to 1:29.507 and clinch the fourth spot on the provisional Starting Grid.

“It was a super tight session and all in all it hasn’t been a bad first Quali for the season. In Q3 we were not able to really put everything together, but we are in a decent spot for tomorrow’s race in P4".
