Carlos Sainz looks for the optimum set-up in Monaco practice

Friday, 23 May 2025:
- Free Practice 1: P7, 1:12.534, 36 laps
- Free Practice 2: P13, 1:12.151, 32 laps

  • Carlos Sainz stayed away from trouble in the first day of practice at the Monaco GP, even though there were three red flags due to incidents on track.
  • The Spanish race driver has looked for the best set-up for his Williams FW47, but he feels there is still margin for improvement. A red flag compromised his fastest lap in Free Practice 2.
  • The goal now is to take another step forward in Free Practice 3 in order to reach the most important Qualifying of the year with the maximum guarantees.

QUOTES:
"We started FP1 with a car that wasn’t giving me a lot of confidence but I still managed to do some good laps. I had some work to do on setup and for FP2 we introduced some changes that unfortunately didn’t seem to work and we took a step back. We’ve got work for tomorrow, but I’m confident we can find the right balance and do a good build up for Qualifying".

COMING UP:
Saturday, 24 May 2025:
- Free Practice 3: 12:30 local time (12:30 CEST)
- Qualifying: 16:00 local time (16:00 CEST)
