• Carlos Sainz started the Monaco GP at the top of the timesheets, with the fastest time of the morning session and the third fastest lap in the evening one.
• The Spanish Ferrari race driver used two sets of the Medium tyre in Free Practice 1, while in Free Practice 2 he got to test the Hard compound and also the soft one to start preparing for Qualifying.
• After improving his fastest lap-time to 1:12.569, the Spaniard missed out the last few minutes of Free Practice 2 due to a contact in the swimmint pool area.

"In general, I think the day was positive. We were fast in both sessions and the car feels okay on track. There are still a couple of things I want to try tomorrow on the set-up to try and improve, but overall we are quite competitive. Obviously, it was not ideal to finish the session in that way, after a small miscalculation trying to find the limit. Sorry to the team and the mechanics for the extra work".
