• A light drizzle fell over the Suzuka Circuit a few minutes into the second practice session, preventing Carlos and the rest of the grid from running as they intended.
• The Ferrari race driver completed only three laps because the standing water on track, although not enough for the Intermediate tyre, was too much for the slicks and compromised any possible conclusion.
• In the first practice session, that included a 10-minute red flag due to a crash on track, Carlos worked with the Hard tyre and set the third fastest time with the Soft.

“It was not an ideal Friday as we entirely lost the second session due to the changing conditions. This morning in FP1 I was quite comfortable in the car but I was looking forward to the afternoon session to continue working on the setup. The track was too wet for slicks and too dry for Inters so it really made no sense to run and we decided to stay in the garage. Anyways, we are all in the same situation and we still have tomorrow morning to fine tune the car ahead of Quali.”
