- Free Practice 1: P2, 1:42.563, 15 laps
- Free Practice 2: P6, 1:43.204, 23 laps
- Carlos gathered 38 laps under the rain in an atypical Friday at the Japanese GP, where he was the second driver with the most mileage. He used both the Intermediate and Full-Wet tyre compounds.
- Although weather conditions were bad, the Ferrari race driver stayed on track throughout the day and gathered valuable information.
- The afternoon session was 30 minutes longer than usual given that Pirelli wanted to test tyres for the 2023 season, but because of the rain this test has been pushed to the Mexican GP.
