- Free Practice 1: P4, 1:13.074, 15 laps
- Free Practice 2: P19, 1:13.108, 7 laps
- Carlos’ run plan was seriously compromised, first by rain on Free Practice 1 and later by a technical issue in Free Practice 2. He covered way less kilometres than he originally intended.
- Free Practice 1 started under wet conditions, although the track dried up and the Ferrari race driver was able to test the Medium tyre during nine laps.
- In Free Practice 2, nevertheless, the Spaniard had to return to the pits after only seven laps after spotting an issue in the gearbox of his SF-24.
- One of the question marks going into Saturday is the risk of rain. It is not ruled out for Free Practice 3 and it looks quite likely for the Qualifying session.
