Albert Park Circuit (5,278 meters, 14 corners, in the calendar since 1996)
PREVIOUSLY:
- Formula 1 returns to the Albert Park Circuit for the first time since the start of the pandemic. The last race dates back to the 2019 season, because in 2020 COVID-19 prompted the cancellation of the event right before Free Practice was due to start.
- The Australian track has undergone some changes in its layout and lap-times are expected to be up to five seconds lower than in the past. The most significant one is the suppression of the chicane in corners 9 and 10.
- Australia is the Grand Prix in which Carlos made his Formula 1 debut back in 2015. He finished his maiden race in ninth place and in 2016 he repeated the same result. Up to this day, these are his best performances in Melbourne.
COMING UP:
Friday, 8 April 2022
- Free Practice 1: 13:00 local time (05:00 CEST)
- Free Practice 2: 16:00 local time (08:00 CEST)
